Class of 2018
Bowhunter, Competitor, Contributor to the Sport
Robert “Bob” Henry Markworth,
born in Los Angeles, California on August 19th, 1936, the only
child of Henry and Madeline Markworth. “Bob” Markworth as he
preferred to be called, turned to show business as a vehicle for
his passion for travel, capitalizing on his expertise as a
champion archer, to create a bow and arrow shooting act which
facilitated his night club and TV appearances in 58 different
countries.
His passion for the
outdoors, fishing, camping, bowhunting, and trekking, prompted a
parallel career as an outdoor writer and member of OWAA, with
hundreds of adventures, hunting/conservation and fishing
magazine articles to his credit.
Spending the better part of
55 years travelling throughout 80 countries on six continents,
this author has mastered five languages and has studied the
customs, cultures, religions and political persuasions of
countless different nationalities, from primitive Bushmen in
Namibia and Dyak indigenous people in Borneo, to the fascinating
Inuits in the North American arctic.
His insight into seeking and
obtaining inner peace, developing inert powers from within, and
communicating with his fellow man, are the results of the
documented personal experiences which he anxiously wished to
share with his readers.
